Remote Ring Switch Monitoring is achieved in minutes by simply dropping in a Sixnet IPm Modbus RTU or the IndustrialPro-M2 router with embedded Modbus Master. Either will connect with IPm WebControl instantly to offer monitoring of multiple sites anywhere in the world with an Internet connection.

In this example, a large wind turbine installation, the  Sixnet ring switches are monitored remotely through MODBUS/UDP polling. There are a number of methods to alert operators of any break in the ring. The WebControl enabled Sixnet RTU or IndustrialPro-M2 router can be installed without any configuration. This can be done remotely.

Export Modbus registers from your Sixnet ring  switch software and import to the IPm WebControl server. The new configuration will download immediately or at a time you choose. Any problems, simply roll back to the last configuration.

  Sixnet IndustrialPro-M2 cellular router - external Internet connection

Software in the Sixnet IPm registers itself with our web server and downloads its configuration. Authenticated users can use any web browser to securely view or change current values and configurations running in the IPm. It provides alarms, including links back to the site, by email or SMS message. Historical data and charts are available to view and download in a CSV file format.

For the first time, IPm WebControl provides full read/write capabilities securely across the internet. It can supplement your existing SCADA architecture or eliminate it altogether.

About IPm Web Control

• Utilizing a non-polling SCADA design, IPm WebControl puts the intelligence in the RTU by pushing data to the server and pulling down any updates or changes in the application.
• Plug your Sixnet IPm into the network. It connects to a secure Internet site, downloads its configuration and starts working. A truly Plug and Play solution.
• Your data is logged on change of state and sent up to a central server every five seconds to minimize network traffic. IPm WebControl is built to prevent data loss, so if the internet connection is lost, the host alerts the user. The RTU keeps logging data locally. When the connection is restored the data is back filled to the host.
• IPm WebControl keeps multiple recipients fully informed on the status of all assets, eliminating the need to constantly monitor widely distributed equipment or applications.

The FGR2-PE offers industrial Serial and Ethernet wireless connectivity using license-free spread spectrum for data communication over long distances.
